Fairview Range is thrilled to welcome not just one but two new urologists to our medical team: Dr. Andrew Nisbet and Dr. Elizabeth Johnson. The dynamic husband-and-wife duo brings an exceptional blend of expertise, dedication, and compassion to our community, ensuring that residents of the Iron Range have access to top-notch urological care.
Dr. Nisbet and Dr. Johnson will begin seeing patients this September at Fairview Mesaba Clinic in Hibbing and will also be performing surgeries at Fairview Range Medical Center.
What makes their arrival even more special is that together, they will form a full-time urology practice by alternating their time at Fairview Range – a perfect balance that allows them to maintain both their professional and personal lives in Duluth.
Meet Dr. Andrew Nisbet, MD
Dr. Andrew Nisbet is a seasoned urologist who completed his medical training at the University of Massachusetts and his residency at the University of Connecticut. With a passion for delivering high-quality care in rural settings, Dr. Nisbet is excited to continue his journey at Fairview Range.
“I enjoy providing expert clinical urological care,” Dr. Nisbet shares. “I have previously enjoyed delivering great care in rural settings, and I look forward to bringing this service to the Iron Range.”
Meet Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, MD
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, who completed her medical education at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and her residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, emphasizes a holistic approach to urologic care. She integrates lifestyle-based interventions with traditional treatments to help her patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
“I enjoy developing long-term relationships with my patients as we work through their urologic problems,” says Dr. Johnson. “I place an emphasis on providing the highest quality, evidence-based care.”

Both Dr. Nisbet and Dr. Johnson are general urologists, treating both male and female patients with a wide range of urologic conditions. Their expertise covers everything from common issues like kidney stones and incontinence to more complex challenges such as urologic cancers and voiding complaints. Their combined skills and patient-centered approach will significantly enhance the urology services available in our region.
