At Fairview Range, we understand that every birth journey is unique, and we’re committed to providing the highest-quality maternity care customized to your needs.
Our Women’s Health & Birth Center (WHBC) offers a full range of maternity services, from prenatal care to postpartum support. Ensuring that every mother and baby receive the personalized care they deserve.
Comprehensive Prenatal Care
Expectant mothers at Fairview Range can expect compassionate support and expert care throughout their pregnancy. Our team of OBGYNs, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners, and Family Practice Doctors provide prenatal care that includes regular check-ups, ultrasound screenings, and personalized birth planning.
“Expectant mothers will have the chance to hear their baby’s heartbeat and talk about the baby’s growth with their providers. During these visits, any concerns will be addressed, and the patients can explore their preferences for the birth experience, including creating a personalized birth plan,” states Katrina Cole, BSN, RN. “Around 20 weeks of pregnancy, an anatomy ultrasound is performed to check the baby’s growth and development.”
We strongly emphasize education, ensuring you’re well-informed about every stage of your pregnancy and prepared for the upcoming weeks. For those with high-risk pregnancies, we offer specialized monitoring and consultations with Maternal Fetal Medicine doctors to ensure both mother and baby are safe and healthy.
“For higher risk pregnancies, the provider may order extra monitoring throughout the pregnancy such as weekly non-stress tests, extra ultrasounds, biophysical profiles or fetal echocardiograms,” explains Cole.
Exceptional Birth Experience
Our WHBC is designed to make your birthing experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Our spacious birthing suites come equipped with whirlpool tubs, specialized labor beds, and all the amenities you need for your stay.
You’ll labor, deliver, and recover in the same room, with your partner by your side, in a space that feels more like a home than a hospital. Our dedicated nurses are trained in labor support, physiologic birth, and high-risk pregnancy care, ensuring that you receive the best care – no matter your birth plan.
We also offer a variety of tools to support you during labor, including birthing balls, peanut balls, distraction tools, aromatherapy, and more. For those who desire pain management, we provide options such as nitrous oxide, IV pain medication, intrathecal, and epidurals.
Our commitment to your comfort and preferences is evident in every aspect of our care.

Advanced Technology for Modern Care
One of the standout features of our maternity services is our use of the MONICA NOVII wireless EFM monitor. This Bluetooth electronic fetal monitor continuously tracks the baby’s heart rate and the mother’s contractions during labor, giving you the freedom to move around the room or relax in the whirlpool tub.
Cole reassures, “This monitor allows patients to rest more during labor because the nurse does not need to come in and adjust the monitors every time the patient moves, as happens with traditional monitors.”
The MONICA NOVII wireless EFM monitor is an ideal option for patients who want a low-intervention birth while still benefiting from continuous monitoring, making it easier for mothers to stay comfortable during labor.
Lactation Support and Education
Breastfeeding is a journey of its own, and our team is here to support you every step of the way. We begin lactation education during the prenatal period, lasting through the postpartum period and beyond. All nurses on the WHBC have required breastfeeding and lactation education, as well as continuing education. Our team also includes Certified Lactation Counselors and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants who are experts in breastfeeding support. They offer both inpatient and outpatient appointments to ensure you have the help you need to successfully breastfeed your baby.
“Our IBCLC Lactation Consultant sees all breastfeeding mothers after they have their babies and offers outpatient appointments for anyone needing extra support,” states Cole.
Supporting You and Your Family
Fairview Range offers free prenatal classes to help you and your partner prepare for labor, childbirth, infant care, and breastfeeding. The classes are two two-hour sessions offered every other month throughout the year. Experienced prenatal nurses teach these classes, providing you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate your birth journey.
“Fairview Range offers quality and safe OB services close to home. We have great providers, amazing nurses and staff, and a wide array of services to offer for your birth experience,” explains Cole. “Here at Range, you are the driver of your birth experience. We will give you all the education and information you need to make informed decisions on your care and will partner with you to create the best experience possible.”
