At Fairview Range’s Breast Center, we are investing in the latest technology to ensure that cancer can be caught as soon as possible. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that makes us even more thrilled to announce the latest additions to our state-of-the-art equipment lineup – the 3Dimensions Mammography System and the Brevera® Breast Biopsy System. These cutting-edge technologies represent a significant leap forward in breast imaging and biopsy procedures, promising greater accuracy, comfort, and peace of mind for our patients.
3Dimensions Mammography System
The 3Dimensions Mammography System is a true game-changer, offering several key benefits such as “detecting 20%-65% more invasive breast cancers.” According to Colleen Majkich, IR Tech/Mammographer/Rad Tech at the Breast Center, “This is state-of-the-art breast imaging in all of the components. The DBT (Digital Breast Tomosynthesis Imaging) has a significant effect on breast cancer detection because it has been shown to improve the visualization of the breast tissue abnormalities.”
Exceptional Image Clarity
The 3Dimensions machine utilizes advanced image processing to produce crystal-clear images of breast tissue. This clarity enables our radiologists to detect even the tiniest abnormalities with precision by flipping through a book of images of the entire breast.
Comfortable Design
We understand that mammograms can be uncomfortable for some patients. The 3Dimensions machine features a comfortable design, ensuring a more pleasant experience during your screening.
SmartCurve™ Breast Stabilization System
The 3Dimensions machine includes the SmartCurve™ system, which adapts to the shape of your breast, providing gentle compression while maintaining image quality. This innovative feature enhances patient comfort during the procedure.
The Brevera® Breast Biopsy
Complementing our advanced mammography technology is the Brevera® Breast Biopsy System, another great addition to our breast care arsenal. This new machine also comes with a long line of benefits.
Real-Time Imaging
The Brevera® system offers real-time imaging during biopsy procedures. This will allow for imaging to be done as the specimens are being taken so you can actually see you are getting the calcifications during the biopsy.
Streamlined Workflow
By integrating imaging and biopsy into a single system, the Brevera® simplifies the process, reducing the time required for the procedure. This means patients can get in and out faster and we can see more people that need our services.
Enhanced Tissue Sampling
With the Brevera®, our skilled medical professionals can obtain high-quality tissue samples, crucial for accurate diagnoses. This technology uses a 12-chamber tissue filter to provide better information.
